Lecturer Ani Adhikari, Statistics, Professor Ananya Roy, City and Regional Planning, and Professor David Wagner, EECS were recipients of the 2006 Distinguished Teaching Award.

The award, bestowed by the Berkeley Division of the Academic Senate's Committee on Teaching, is the highest honor for instruction given by UC Berkeley. Only 5 percent of those who have taught at the campus since 1959 -- the year the awards began -- have received this award. This year's recipients bring the total to 215. Criteria include command of their subject, continuous growth in their field of study, ability to organize course material and present it cogently, ability to inspire independent and original thinking, and "enthusiasm and vitality in learning and teaching."

The event is sponsored by the Committee on Teaching of the Berkeley Divsion of the Academic Senate and the Office of Educational Development. For more information, visit the Teaching Awards website.
